No Inter deal for Figo?

The likes of Newcastle United, Spurs and Stuttgart are all rumoured to be about to rekindle their interest in Luis Figo, as a second proposed deal looks to have fallen through for the former player of the year.

He was thought to be on the verge of a move to Inter Milan, but Real Madrid have insisted that they will not give the player to any of their direct rivals in Europe, which it now looks likely to have happened with the Liverpool deal.

Speaking to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo a source stated:

"There is no agreement. In addition it must be clear that Real Madrid is not going to give Figo to a direct rival in Europe."

This has opened the door for clubs not playing in the Champions league, and Newcastle have always maintained that they are keeping an eye on the situation, if he follows his pledge to play in England his options are beginning to look more limited.
