I miss football hooliganism

Whether you are Newcastle United, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool or a supporter of any other side you care to mention, (with the possible exception of Chelsea as you would all be too young to remember), it has come to pass that football hooliganism is a Bad thing.
Well I would like to challenge that notion.
Football Hooligans made you glad to be alive, there was simply no greater feeling than travelling to say Liverpool away, stuck in a police line with 3000 of your fellow supporters and have the bile and hatred of seven foot scousers with tattoos on their eyelids, a short police cordon away from your good selves.
And you are good selves, I know, we have done extensive research for this site (admittedly most of it was pub based but hell the main point is it shows the caring people we are). And that extensive research has led us to know out typical reader is called John and he is married (or at least living with) Janet.
Well that’s ok John, we like you, no we treasure you , that’s just the way we are, we are caring, and completely un-sexist, and just to prove that you can let Janet read this (providing she has done the dishes anyway).
Anyway where were we?
Football hooliganism, a good thing? Am I taking the piss (sorry I am hurt an offended upon the aspersions cast upon my otherwise flawless character).
Today though, think about it, 37% of the population is on Prozac or other mood enhancing drugs, when back in the 80’s all you needed to feel happy to be alive was merely to have survived the 7 foot scousers.
They preformed a public service; they were under appreciated as members of society.
So let’s have a round of applause, for all those mindless idiots that improved our lives, simply by the knowledge, that even given a lobotomy we were not one of them
Who provides that sort of service today?
