Owen Hargreaves has turned down offers from the Premiership duo of Middlesbrough and Spurs, deciding instead to stay and fight for a first team place with Bayern Munich.
Middlesbrough reportedly offered to match the salary he received at Bayern and Spurs have reportedly been keeping a very close eye on the situation.
His agent Roman Grill confirmed the offer saying:
"There has been an offer, but Owen refused."
And Bayern head coach believes the champions league was the deciding factor stating:
"Bayern is the better club for his international ambitions than playing in the Premiership.
"If he plays in the Champions League with us, his chances even will be much better."
