Spurs have lodges a bid of 20 million euros, for Sevilla striker Julio Baptista, they will be in direct competition with their neighbours Arsenal who have previously bid 18 million Euros for the player.
A statement on the official Sevilla website reads:
"The most important offer that we have received is that of Tottenham, of more than 20m Euros."
"Time is passing by and there are fewer days in order for clubs to make higher offers than what we have received."
They may have a difficult time in persuading the player though, who has recently stated his desire to remain at least on more season in Spain in order to obtain dual nationality.
