Real Madrid Pay Robinho’s Release Fee

After tough negotiations, ‘Los Merengues’ have bought their new ‘Galáctico’. They have paid Santos 30 million dollars (24.5 million euros), which activates Robinho’s release clause. Both the Brazilian star and his manager decided to give up their shares of the transfer to make it possible.

Wagner Ribeiro, the player’s manager, has recently deposited the money in a bank in Rio de Janeiro. Real Madrid has confirmed the deal through their press director, Antonio García Ferreras, who stated:

“We will pay 24 million euros, which stands for the 60% of the release clause; the other 40% were supposed to go to the player and his agent.”

Robinho and Wagner Ribeiro have given up their shares of the transfers. This means that the player will most probably sign for Madrid. He has already approved a medical test with Real’s doctor, Alfonso Del Corral and an agreement over a contract would have been reached a long time ago.
