Baptista: The End of a Story

After a long dense and unrealistic story, Real Madrid have landed Julio Baptista for 20 million euros. The Brazilian striker, that had received offers from Arsenal and Spurs, signs for five years.

Negotiations between Real Madrid and Sevilla were very fast and reached an agreement in very few days. Sevilla president José María Del Nido stated:

“Julio’s managers made us see he wanted to leave, and also showed us that from 1 July 2006, the FIFA rules regarding contracts between players and teams would change, so the only logical decision was to sell him.”

So this is the end to one of the top stories this summer, luckily, after many rumours and offers and statements. The man, like many others, made us crazy saying he wanted to stay, then he wanted to leave, and then wanting to go to England. Let’s just thank that idiot with money (other than Roman Abramovich) Florentino Pérez, for putting us all out of our misery.
