Contra lays into Davids

New Spurs signing Edgar Davids came in for some harsh words of criticism from former West Brom star Cosmin Contra, who labelled the Dutch star a 'psycho'.

There has been bad blood between the pair since they came to blows during their time in Serie A with Contra warning Spurs fans that Davids has an inflated ego and is 'a violent man'.

Speaking to The News of The World Contra said:

"Davids seems to believe he is someone far more important and special than he really is."

"He is arrogant and gives the impression that everyone else is a nothing.

"His new club should watch out, Davids is actually a bit of a psycho, a violent man who can hold a grudge."

And his former team-mate at Juventus Gianluigi Buffon also had some words of warning about his influence on the Spurs Dressing room:

"Edgar snaps sometimes, he is on a knife-edge and you never know what is going to happen next," said Buffon.

"You have to take the good with the bad and that can be difficult.
"He can lose control but I think he is the first to realise that when it happens he is the one who suffers."

So what are you opinions on Davids? Are these just bitter words from people that never got on with Davids, or should they strike a note of caution?
