According to the french sports magazine "l`équipe" has the former french international and ex-Fulham player Steve Marlet signed a 2 year contract with Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg.
The 31 years old striker from Fulham played the last two seasons for french club Olympique Marseille on loan, where he scored 16 goals in 34 games. Marlet, who played between 2000 and 2004 23 games for the french national team (6 goals) can move on a free. Wolfsburg has not yet confirmed the transfer.
Except Wolfsburg were also french sides AJ Auxerre, OSC Lille and AS Nancy interested in Marlet. Allegedly were also Manchester City and Espanyol Barçelona after him.
After a visitation in the "Volkswagencity" has Marlet allegedly decided to join the "most ambitious" club, even if he can earn there not the money he would get elsewhere.
