Spurs star expects European push

Spurs star Paul Robinson has insisted that a European push is very much on the cards for Spurs this season, with perhaps a champions league place not out of the question.

Speaking to the Sun Newspaper about his feelings about his manager Martin Jol Robinson stated:

''He has top quality, bags of experience and a will to win.''

''We also have a better mentality. Under previous boss Jacques Santini, the priority was not to concede and if we scored as well that was a bonus.

''Martin Jol has a completely different view. We can mix it and battle as we proved at Blackburn on Wednesday night.

''But we also believe we can go out and beat whoever we play. In many ways, our gaffer is like Mourinho - very confident and knows what he wants.

''This year there is a resoluteness mixed with a confidence which allows us to go out and play.

''The gaffer has gradually moulded a squad using the players he was given and adding some new ones. He has the respect of everyone.

''There is a real expectation this season. The fans have always been massively optimistic but this time it is with good reason.
