Manchester United in for Real legend

The Spanish press are today claiming that Carlos Queiroz has sounded out Real Madrid legend defender Ivan Helguera about a move to Old Trafford.

Although Helguera has always protested his desire to remain with Madrid it is thought that in private he has excepted that the time has come to move on to pastures new and there are no shortage of clubs willing to offer him that chance.

Along with Man Utd, Newcastle and Arsenal are also said to be interested and Juventus, Internazionale and Roma are all understood to be keen to take him to Italy.

Any move is not expected to happen before the summer, but he will be available to listen to offers from January.
