An end to a beautiful career?

Former Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Middlesbrough, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur defender Christian Ziege fears his career in the game is at an end as he fails to make any real recovery from an ankle injury.
The 33 year old former German international told Kicker:
"The point is surely not far away when you have to say it makes no more sense."
"Inevitably, I have to deal with thoughts of my career ending. This can't go on forever."
"I'm not going forwards. I don't see any further treatment promising success."
Unable to play for his club side Borussia Moenchengladbach since December last year, it appears to be the end of a career that took in some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and saw him win Euro 96 with the German national side.
