Manchester United: Keane was right

Rio Ferdinand is in complete agreement with team-mate Roy Keane over the criticisms levelled at the defender by his captain after the 4-1 defeat to Middlesbrough.

Keene was widely blasted for an interview he gave to MUTV, an interview which in the end was pulled and since which Keane has denied that he mentioned the England player at all, but speaking to the Sun Newspaper Ferdinand said he believed Kane had a point:


"Roy obviously said what he felt but what he said about me is nothing that I didn’t think myself."

"I’m my own fiercest critic. He has every right to say what he did - he’s the skipper.

"He talked about my position for the two goals (in the defeat at Middlesbrough) and he was right.

"He was absolutely spot on with his comments. Nobody would argue with them."
