Manchester Utd.'s Duscher offer rejected

Deportivo La Coruña have dismissed a 5 million pounds bid for Argentine midfielder Aldo Duscher from Manchester United. Depor chairman Lendoiro will not sell him for less than 12 million euros, fee for which they bought him. Newcastle Utd. also started contacts with Depor over Duscher.

Manchester United’s approach for the Argentine midfielder has been rejected. Augusto César Lendoiro, Deportivo President, has made clear that he won’t be listening to any offers lower than 12 million euros, which was the fee for which the 26-year-old midfielder was bought from Sporting Lisbon.

Newcastle United was the other team seriously interested in landing him. They might be ready to fulfill Lendoiro’s request and have started negotiations. In case the Geordies withdraw their offer for Duscher, they would be going after Valencia’s Rubén Baraja.

Duscher stated:

“I have received some phone calls from Newcastle and Manchester United, they both said that they would like to have me in the winter when the transfer window opens.”

"But to be honest, I am interested in playing well at Deportivo and fighting for a place in the national team. I am very happy with my performances at Deportivo and that will maybe give me the chance."

Yet, he does not close the door to the Premiership, since him and Depor agreed that any offer satisfying both parts would be considered, mostly due to overwhelming interest from the English team. According to the player, it would be his last chance of getting a good contract:

“I have always said that in football you’ve got to seize the moment and that is what I will do; the train only comes by once in a lifetime.”
