Spurs go global

Premiership clubs are looking further and further a field in there search for upcoming talent. When even an average player can cost millions, in both wages and transfer fees, it is important to find them young.

The Dutch and Ajax in particular have long been masters of this, and indeed it is by unearthing young talent that many Dutch clubs survive, now Premiership clubs are following suit, a prime example of this is the trial given to Opoku Agyemang and Wakaso Mubarak who will have 10 days under the watchful eye of Martin Jol, to press their point.

Both players impressed scouts at the last under-17 world cup in Peru, and should they fail to impress at Spurs, another trial awaits them with French Giants Marseille.

This is just another example of the emergence of African football as a global event, and unlike that other world breeding ground of South America, even the clubs in Africa are willing to do everything to get their players to Europe.
