Ashley Cole moving to Madrid?

Real Madrid is very interested in signing Arsenal’s full back Ashley Cole in January. The deal could go through for only 8 million pounds, since the fee would activate the player’s release clause in his contract.

Real Madrid is looking to add depth to the squad, especially to find a replacement for Roberto Carlos, who is ageing fast, and Ashley Cole is the main candidate. Valencia’s Fabio Aurelio appears as a second choice should Cole not land in Madrid.

After the scandal about the secret negotiations with Chelsea, the relationship between Cole and Arsene Wenger seem to have deteriorated, and this would help the player decide to leave Arsenal.
