Fly half Mark Woodrow makes a welcome return to Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club, having re-signed for the rest of the season. He will available for selection for the Bees trip to the West Country this weekend for the Sunday Championship encounter against Bristol.
The playmaking fly half was an integral part of the Bees’ highly successful side which won promotion to the newly Championship during the 2008/9 season. Since then he has been playing his rugby with Viadana in Italy and most latterly with Cinderford in National Division 1.
“The enforced retirement of George Crook due to injury left us with reduced options for a goal-kicking fly half and the return of “Woody” gives us real a real boost in this key position” said Bees Director of Rugby Russell Earnshaw.
“Mark is a highly experienced player who understands how we play and our playing style really suits his natural game. He will have to compete with our existing squad members to secure his place in the side, but I am sure his return to the Club will be welcomed in all quarters, especially by fans who will no doubt have fond memories of his skills and charismatic playing-style.”
The Bees side to face Bristol on Sunday will be announced shortly.
