Birmingham and Solihull Bees are delighted to announce that Henno Venter has been appointed as Forwards Coach at Portway in a player/coaching role.
Venter joins the Bees from Sedgley Park, where he played in 18 of their National League One games last season, including the home and away matches against his new club. Venter has also played National League rugby at Jersey and Coventry, playing in both the second row and back row. During his seven year stint at Coventry, he played 111 league and cup games and was also Club captain.
A native of South Africa, Venter joins new Director of Rugby, Eugene Martin, as part of the new “backroom” Performance Team, who are already planning to “hit the ground running” as the Bees approach their new challenge in National Division 2 North.
Announcing Venter joining the club, Eugene Martin expressed his delight saying, “Henno will bring experience and knowledge to a young set of forwards who are learning their trade at a good standard. As he was playing National Division One last season, he will be a key player for us as well.”
