Grove to step down

Lawrence Grove has given Pertemps Bees notice of his intention to stand down as a director of the club at the end of the financial year.

Grove, a director for the past four years will resign April 30. Although Pertemps Bees have had a disappointing season on the pitch, Grove feels that the club is in a stronger position now than at any other period in the past.
Grove said; "I have thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with the Bees, but now believe that it is time to move on.
"Given that Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club is a Member's Club my departure will allow at least one other member the opportunity to work closely with one of the top 28 clubs in the country.
"Whilst this season has been frustrating on the playing front, the business has never been stronger. Our association with South Birmingham College and the recent strengthening of the club management will allow the club to develop and prosper next season onwards."
Club Chairman, Nick Mennell said; "Lawrence's contribution to the club has been extremely significant, for which each member should be grateful and whilst we are disappointed that he has decided to stand aside, we understand his sentiments and his wish to support the rugby ambitions of his two sons, Alex and Oliver."
Pertemps Bees Director of Rugby Phil Maynard said: "Lawrence has become a close friend to both me and the club and his company and input will be missed by us all. That said, I have no doubt that he will never be too far away to make a useful nuisance of himself!"
