Higgins signs from rivals

Pertemps Bees have continued their team-building programme for next season by recruiting fly-half John Higgins from National One rivals Coventry.

Higgins has spent the last two seasons with Coventry, the first of them on loan from Premiership club Worcester, but has now signed a two-year contract with Pertemps Bees.
He has been recruited as a replacement for Australian Tim Walsh who is set to join Newbury following Pertemps Bees' decision not to offer him a contract for a third season.
"We're delighted to have signed John," said Phil Maynard, Pertemps Bees' director of rugby. "He's got experience of this division and he's very highly-rated.
"He's caused a lot of problems for us in our recent games against Coventry and we hope that he will bring control and consistency at fly-half."
Higgins is Pertemps Bees second major capture for next season following lock Mark Cornwell, who is to join as captain after ten years with Premiership club Gloucester.
