MFC beat Leeds to bad boy?

Another so called "bad boy" is set to sign for us, judging by reports. The more the merrier, I say, as if anyone can bring out the best in them it's Wisey! Looks like we've beaten Leeds United to his signature, which makes it even sweeter!

Irish left back Des Byrne is set sign for us in December, according to reports.

He's currently playing in his native country for St Patrick’s Athletic, but he's had spells with Carlisle United, Wimbledon (now MK Dons), Stockport County and Cambridge United.

The 23-year-old is not that experienced at English league level, as he's clocked up less than 30 appearances, but nonetheless he's hopeful of earning a deal at Millwall.

Byrne said: "“My agent has been sorting a few things out for me and the plans are to get a run with Millwall in December.”

The former Irish youth international is no stranger to controversy.

He was reportedly sacked by Stockport, had his contract ended at Carlisle after a breach of club discipline and was involved in a high-profile court case which also included Chelsea’s John Terry and Jody Morris in 2002 – but his ability has generally been recognised wherever he has been.

Leeds United had been linked with a move for the Dubliner earlier in the summer but nothing concrete materialized on that occasion.
