Liverpool blamed for trouble

Liverpool have been blamed for the trouble that occurred at Millwall. Let's see them try to wriggle out of it! As we know, Liverpool fans think they are blameless angels no matter what they do!

Speaking to the SLP, acting chief supt Dean Higgins of the Metropolitan Police said: "Our report is about hostile behaviour. It refers to fans exchanging the banter which is unfortunately part of today's game.

"There was threats on both sides. It was the sort of chanting you would hear at most games. It will be down to the investigators to decide what impact that actually had."

Culprits are likely to be arrested for "substantive criminal offences that involve violence and assault," he said.

But he did add: "I am aware there is potential for insensitive chanting. It got more abusive as time went on, but we have not reported on that because it came from both sides, and was not sustained or loud."

Prominent Lions fan John Butler, known as Grandad, said: "I know we have had our troubles in the past but we are well behaved these days. But we still took the blame unfairly as usual.

"If it was down to chants, they started it anyway, singing about Budapest 'Two got stabbed - should've been more'."
