Chairman Scott Carnegie and his fellow directors maintained on their arrival at the club nearly three months ago they wanted to sell their shareholding quickly.

But there have been suggestions that the board are now set for a long-term stay and spokesman Malcolm Brown says they will still be there in July.

He said: "There is a very good chance that the present board will be there for the start of the new season.

"Scott Carnegie will say that once somebody comes in they've got to open up the books and look around the club.

"They've got to get the finances in place and got to make bids and negotiate and the new season is nearly on us. If you ask about the close season you say what close season?

"The simple fact is that board will stay in place until the job is done one way or the other."

The board have already rejected offers from local businessman Eddie Thompson and a mystery bidder.
