McCall aiming for fortress Tannadice

Dundee United manager Ian McCall is determined to turn Tannadice into a fortress to prevent the threat of relegation becoming a reality.

The Tangerines ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Dunfermline to haul themselves level on points with Motherwell at the foot of the table.

Goals from Craig Easton, Andy Tod and Daniel Ogunmade secured all three points for United, who remain unbeaten at home since McCall took over in January.

Now the former Falkirk boss wants Tannadice to become the same bastion of home superiority it was for United in the glory years of the 1980s under Jim McLean.

McCall said: "I want to bring back the days where teams would come to Tannadice knowing that they will have to fight to get anything.

"This is a big win for us and I was especially pleased with the performance of Jim Paterson.

"He has had a hard time with injury but showed today that he has ability.

"We dominated the game for the first 55 minutes and, even when they changed their formation, we still looked dangerous.
