Samuel set for switch

Falkirk striker Collin Samuel will complete his move to Dundee United within the next few days.

Both clubs have agreed terms and Samuel is expected to agree personal terms with the Tannadice side later this week.

The £100,000 move is also subject to the transfer of his work permit and outstanding points with his former club in Trinidad being sorted but neither are likely to hamper the switch.

Owen Coyle is also on his way to United after being released by the club.

He led the Bairns to the First Division title, along with fellow joint manager John Hughes, but he couldn't agree terms with Falkirk to remain in the post and is now set to join former boss Ian McCall as a player-coach at Tannadice.

Falkirk boss Hughes said: "We believe this is a good time for Collin Samuel to move on and Owen was never going to play for us again after having been joint coach. We wish them both well.

"These moves are helping to clear the decks so that we can bring together players who really want to play for Falkirk and there are many good players that want to join us.

"We believe that the signings we are working on will give us a squad that is more than capable of winning the Championship for a second time."
