With England 7s stars Jonny Hylton & James Moore - joining the Welsh Wizard Rhodri McAtee, the Cornish Pirates look well prepared to defend their Henley 7s title

The Cornish Pirates will be defending their title at this years Henley International Sevens tournament. In last years final the Pirates beat Northampton Saints 31-17.

This year they face competition from:
Bristol, British Army, Northampton Saints, Worcester Warriors Scorpions, Dynamo (Moscow), Hartpury College, Royal and Sun Alliance Apache, Loughborough University, Marauders, Newbury, QJP, Samurai International, Voyagers, West Indies Exiles.

The tournament has a policy encouraging teams from emerging rugby nations to take part, this year Dynamo Rugby of Moscow will be making their debut. There will also be the specialist sevens sides headed by Samurai International, past winners the Marauders and the Scorpions

A fair number of Pirates fans are expected to attend, and judging from postings on the Quins board, a sizeable contingent of Quins supporters will turn up to shout for the Pirates

With the addition of some quality 7s players to the Pirate's squad, this looks like a tournament where they can successfully defend their title & reaffirm their status as one of teams of the future.

The tournament will be for 16 teams playing for cup, plate and shield starting at 10am with the final of the cup at 7 pm
