Donny win! Now 7 points ahead of Ealing (but have played two more games). Whoever wins tomorrow goes second.

A tremendous fight back by the pirates saw them come back from a 14-0 deficit to claim the 4pts and go 2nd in the table.
Jersey dominated the early exchanges and scored 2 early tries as the pirates struggled to match their physicality.
The pirates eventually got themselves on the scoreboard and a period of determined defence when we were down to 14 men just before half-time left the score 7-17 to the visitors.
A terrific 2nd half performance saw the pirates score 2 further tries and they were denied a bonus point when they scored again after a powerful break by Tommy Wyatt saw Robin Wedlake score in the corner.
The Jersey bench and players were clearly unhappy so after consulting with his touch judge the referee disallowed the score and awarded Jersey a penalty for hands in the ruck.
Nothing was given at the time and both touch judges went straight behind the posts for the conversion. The referee gave the try and it wasn't until the Jersey players questioned the score that it was overturned. I can't recall a decision such as this being made at this level in all my years watching the Pirates. A very strange decision by the officials clearly under pressure by the Jersey players and bench.
Is this not a case of disrespecting the officials which Antonio Kiri Kiri received a one match ban?
Thankfully that decision didn't cost the pirates the game as they defended the resulting line out well and forced a knock on which ended the game.
A fantastic result and full credit to the players and coaches for turning around the early setback showing great character against a very physical Jersey side.

Great second half display against a very good Jersey side. We wore them down eventually and were a bit unlucky not to get the BP near the end. Very confusing bit of officiating. Very exciting game.
Another massive challenge to come at Donny in a fortnight. A chance for the boys to have a rest and get over their bumps and bruises.

Brilliant resolve, guts and determination from the Pirates to beat a very, very good Jersey side. The crowd were brilliant with the Mennaye rocking, just like old times. Things got better when we stopped kicking to their back three and went hard and straight at them. Tom Kessel and Shae Tucker had big impacts when they came on too. Jersey should have scored a try at the end of the first half, and then again the start of the second period but the ball didn't stick. My poor heart....

It was definitely a red hand that interfered, not a Pirate. Disgraceful officiating in my view. DR has never been a fan of the Mennaye!

I know it is maybe too early to talk about winning the league, but with the games in hand it is now the Pirates' to lose. We really turned the table (literally!) on the Travel Agents this weekend.
What a crying shame therefore that the Pirates cannot be promoted this season, without a premiership club in the mix there might never be a better opportunity.
According to what is stated in the 'RFU Radical Plan' thread on here, the club has not even applied for promotion. I quote Ealing Trailfinders and Doncaster Knights are set to discover whether they are eligible for promotion to the Premiership this season. They are the only teams to have applied for promotion but their grounds will have to pass the minimum standards criteria.
Wouldn't it be a sickener if we won the Championship, yet had to stay where we are?

This was a great team performance. Oddly , we dominated possession in the first 8 mins but 4 handling errors and some poor missed tackles and we were two tries down.

But Jersey only scored 3 points in the next 72 mins as we were superb at lineout and scrum and our driving maul is one of the best in the league this year

We dominated the Jersey forwards throughout , who are one of the toughest , meanest bunch in this league

This really is one of the best teams we have had for a while , proud of them all

Shame we cannot move into the promised land , perhaps the ERU will let us become Exeter Chiefs seconds ??

There were loads of Exeter Chiefs hats, coats , scarfs , etc on show around the ground today , so the Cornish Chiefs supporters came to see their own Pirates today which was good to see too

Do we really need to keep referring to other teams in our league by gratuitously offensive names such as the travel agents? And before you pile in with comments like the wholly discredited “it’s just a bit of banter” ask yourself how you would react to Pirates being referred to on another club’s Forum as, say, the luxury hotel providers.

Wino, as I have lived in Leicester for near on 40 years I still have some mickey taken towards myself many times and still do. I except it in good banter even when been informed we have an idiot in every village and town in Cornwall. I agree with them and point out we do have one which makes us unique from the rest of the country as they all appear to take a turn for this position. Mean while back to the game. I watched this via the streaming and I thought we were going to be pulled apart after the first 15 minutes but what an end result and well done to the team for sticking to the task in hand. What Rassie Erasmuss would have said about the match officials thoughts regarding the BP try.
Well done all and especially and extra mention for the lads behind the scenes regarding the pitch and all sundry of other things. All been well will be at Donny and no doubt a few other exiles around the country will be gracing the Donny match (Janner for one).

I personally coined the moniker 'Travel-agents' when referring to Ealing on this forum, and feel quite proud of that. Having sold their souls in the name of naked commercialism, the club should expect nothing but ridicule. Imagine our club renaming itself 'Cornish-Tesco' or similar?
Does anyone remember that once-proud club Birmingham-Solihull and their spell as Pertemps Bees? How did that end up? I personally donated money to their cause when they played the Pirates at Camborne, twelve or so years ago, to enable the team to purchase diesel to get the team bus home. And what about the show-jumping horse from the 1970's, Sanyo Music Centre? And Travel Agents is precisely what Trailfinders are.
I think you need to look up the meaning of the term 'gratuitously offensive' before you go throwing it around, Wino.

I don't see the harm in a bit of leg-pulling - we are often known as the Cornish Pasties.
But if we had someone suddenly pop up with a seemingly bottomless supply of money to support our club, build a stadium or whatever, we probably wouldn't object to having another name attached to the one we already have - even if it was a company name (unless it was Russian!). Almost every football ground these days has a company name attached to it, which is the same sort of thing.

We spend far too much time being PC and allowing the WOKES to bully us. We should all be free to say what we want , when we want and not take offence . It’s been like that for 9,000 years , why change now especially with what Putin is doing . Too much nonsense spoken and posted about what is acceptable and what is not these days . I grew up in a world of hard knocks but great humour and self depreciation by everyone . And I turned out okay . But our rugby is spot on at the moment which is what we should celebrate
