The big news is that GWR are running a special get you home train
Leaves PZ at 22:30 Calling at St Erth / Hayle / Camborne / Redruth / Truro / St Austell / Par / Lostwithiel / Bodmin Parkway / Liskeard / Saltash and Plymouth arriving at 00:23

The Pirates make two changes to the starting 15, with Matt Cannon replacing Charlie Rice at lock and Jack Forsythe returning from Exeter Chiefs at openside flanker. On the bench Sol Moody and Will Becconsall also return from the Premiership outfit.

Morgan Nelson celebrates 50 appearances for the Cornish Pirates having made his return from Gloucester Rugby in the summer.

Interesting challenge against Bedford who are always a top half team.

A number of players missing who I thought would be involved against a very strong looking Bedford side.
It will be interesting to see how we get on.

Despite a late rally the pirates were unable to prevent Bedford running out worthy winners 38-26.
After a closely fought first half Bedford gave us a lesson in exploiting space in the 15M channel midway through the 2nd half by scoring 4 tries and taking a 31 point lead.
Jack Forsythe was a well deserved MoM in an all action display.
There's plenty to work on ahead of the visit of Exeter in 2 weeks.

I felt first half Blues should have been more ahead than they were. The 2nd half we managed to starve you of the ball which made it hard for you to get into the game. We also started it with probably our best team.

I think Blues may have used more players? And made more use of the rolling subs, for example when Fred got his yellow we put our other big 8 on, Uru, which wouldn’t happen in a proper match.

Both teams looked a little rusty still in areas but with a month to still go there is a long way before the season starts. Although from a Blues fan perspective I thought we looked pretty good and a step up from our performance against Blackheath.
