Changes in the starting line-up see wing Matty Ward, and prop Alessandro Heaney set to make their first league starts, whilst Sol Moody is selected at hooker and Milo Hallam at blind-side wing forward.

On the bench, Matt Pritchard will be keen to make his first appearance this season at hooker, and if backrower Barnaby Elderkin enters the fray, then it will mark his first league appearance for the club.

A couple of changes from last week's squad presents and opportunity for these players to impress the coaches.
Caldy are the surprise side of the league so far and always play with plenty of spirit and determination.
This will not be an easy fixture in what could be difficult conditions.

Weather doesn't look too bad. Fresh westerly breeze and a chance it'll stay pretty dry.
As P15 says, Caldy are going well and it'll be a tough challenge. Hopefully we can kick on from the excellent win last week - and keep 15 on the field!

Any Exiles or others who can't make the game I highly recommend the new streaming service at https://www.clubbertv.co.uk/.

It's almost as good as the original Pirates TV, though not so many camera angles, discussions & interviews. Maybe that will come as the service beds in & more people watch.

Well, credit to https://www.clubbertv.co.uk/ now we have a variety of camera angles, replays plus preamble & interviews 20 minutes or so before the game and half time recap. (Sm152)

Pirates 34 Caldy 27
We knew that Caldy would be dogged and determined opponents and so it proved as the pirates struggled to subdue the visitors but held on for a much needed bonus point win.
The pirates looked dangerous in attack but a few unforced errors and ill discipline allowed the visitors into our 22 and they took full advantage in scoring 4 tries to go home with a deserved 2 points.
Matty Ward was a well deserved MoM as he showed his class in the air regathering box kicks and making good ground with ball in hand.
The pirates have a big week ahead of them before Friday nights game away to Nottingham.

Lots of positives to get the win against a very well drilled Caldy side. Indiscipline cost us field position on several occasions and really kept Caldy in the game. But well done to the boys for dogging it our and getting a valuable 5 points.
Tough game coming next Friday against a Nottingham team sitting second at the moment.
