It's Reading

Burnley have been drawn against Reading in the 3rd round of this season’s FA Cup. What a disappointing draw it is for the Clarets when you consider it is hardly a glamour tie for either club. The fixture will not attract support from either club and will hardly improve the club’s coffers.

Still, we must go down to the Madejski Stadium and hope we can put in a performance and at least bring them up to the Turf for a replay. It will be far from easy, with Reading currently occupying 6th position in the Premiership following their promotion last season.

On the bright side, there’s another good pub for us to visit, The Swan Inn on Basingstoke Road is a cracking pub, serving real ales and homemade food. Keep an eye on our Pub Guide section in the coming days for details on this place. Also, Reading have this great idea whereby they have people walking around the concourse under the stand with beer in a container on their backs which they pour into a pint glass with a kind of gun. A brilliant idea that saves you queuing for a pint.

So, not the draw we wanted, but let’s try and make a day of it, and hope that good numbers follow us down to Berkshire.
