...And Now Wrexham

The game will take place at the Racecourse ground on Tuesday 17th July with a 7:30pm kick off.

It is the fourth friendly fixture to be announced so far with the Clarets already facing Accrington Stanley (a), Middlesbrough (h) and Bradford City (a), for more details on these fixtures, click here.

The last time we played Wrexham at the Racecourse was in our promotion season in 1999/2000. Andy Payton scored the winner in a 1-0 win and famously revealed his 'Natural Born Claret' slogan underneath his shirt. It was also the day Stan Ternent left Ian Wright out of the starting line-up for the first time.

Wrexham struggled last season in League Two and stayed in the Football League by the skin of their teeth on the final day. They were managed by former Claret Brian Flynn last time we met, the manager these days is former Leicester City defender and former Wrexham player, Brian Carey.
