On Monday at 3:30pm Burnley Football Club will announce details of a major multi-million pound re-development of Turf Moor. The re-development, said by director Brendan Flood to be ‘face changing’ and ‘something where we can all be comfortable for the next thirty years’ are to be unveiled on the official site.

It has been eleven years since Turf Moor has seen re-development on this scale, when the Longside Terrace and Bee Hole End were replaced by the current James Hargreaves Stand and Jimmy McIlroy Stand making the ground a 22,619 all seater.

The exact details of the re-development are at the moment unknown, but certainly the replacement of the Cricket Field Stand with a new stand looks the most likely outcome, bringing an end to almost 40 years of service for what now houses the away supporters.

Other rumours suggest the Bob Lord Stand could eventually be replaced as part of the plans and even the possibility of a hotel located within the clubs grounds have been mooted.

Whatever the plans are, we are sure you will all agree these are exciting times both on and off the field for Burnley FC, so be sure to log-on to the official site on Monday at 3:30 for all the details, and the message board here at TheLongside.co.uk will certainly see plenty of discussion.

Exciting times ahead – Up the Clarets!
