nothing to do with me,,,but the wording of this seems a litle offensive,surely it is the right of any man women or child to travel this country as they wish,and restrictions that are imposed on them,when did this stop being a free country.i can see the reasons why they are asking or TELLING people to co-operate,but surely a better worded request could of done it,we all no why its done and if joe blogs from burnley hires a coach to drop him at some suburb of london,then if the police wanted to stop this surely that is an infringement on this persons right to travel.anyway as i say nothing to do with me just dont like the way that the message comes across and i no you only doing your job,,,,

To be fair to Darren, the e-mail message was entitled For The Attention Of Supporters Groups, I added the FAO anyone in, just for info for others that may not have known the situation.

You don't need the 'of' in the title as the O in FAO is 'of'.

dont you think though fc,ater thher hoo r on here this week,about coaches etc,the lad got up did something about it,and if i was him i would be feeling bullied by the state again,not trying to cause a row mate and i can see why they got to do it,plus have to do it,,,but the wording leaves a lot to be desired,,,sorry to moan,end from me,,just dont like this so called free country at the moment,,,,anyway hope its great day out for all(Sm127)

I really do not believe the message is aimed at any individual, just making people aware of the situation with the Met police that's all I can see in it.

It is a message for EVERYONE organising coaches, it comes from the Met police.

Wrong or not, these rules have been in place for some time now & I mentioned it/asked in the Accy clarets thread.

Can't really see a problem with it tbh.

If you're organising a coach let that bloke know which coach company you're going with. If you're not, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference whether you have to contact somebody or not.?

Surely it's advisable for the coach company to know of any restrictions/issues in advance rather than risk the possibility of court action later.?

I really don't see the problem.

As i see it, it total common sense! London is a big place, and there are so many different ways to enter London, that the police will issue instructions on where to meet the police in London, so safe passage to the ground is met!

Simple, its just YOUR safety and the safety of those who are not Chelsea's or Burnley supporters getting caught up in 50+ Burnleys fans under the police cordon, in the Chelsea back yard.


Its just stopping the possible event of Trouble.

There is nothing unusual about this at all.

You confirm with the Police when you are taking a coach to an Away game.

The coach company then either get Police instructions for a pick up point, where you are escorted to the ground.

Where you usually have to be at the pick up point at least an hour before the game.

Or if there is going to be a low police presence you can go to direct the ground.

As an organised coach you are not allowed ANY booze on the coach, and if you stop at a pub you have to be a set amount of miles away from the ground.

i do get it bbc2 and as i said,,,ican see why they do it,,,dind i,,,,,,,,,,im just saying the lads done it of his own back as the club is not involved so why should he comply.they only have to say they going to earls court for the day then what can the police do,,,i not saying he should not contact them justmoaning at the way he WAS TOLD TO DO IT,,,,do oyu get that bbc2

Just moaning eh? , how else can you be told? asked nicely, we recommend?, or be told straight off what the consequences are?

The Club has done what it should, if you knew me you would know i have a fair insight into how a game is policed, and have stories that shoots your lack of knowledge out of the water!

So i suggest you think about the consequence of this message not being harsh, and then think of the problems there after!

I still can't see anywhere in the article that is directing it at just one lad. It quite clearly says FAO Of Anyone Organising A Coach To Chelsea.

It's just a message being passed on from the police asking anyone who is organising a coach to Chelsea to contact him.

Somebody please tell me where the problem with that is..??

The Metropolitan Police are very strict on coach companies who fail to notify them that they are travelling or do not adhere to the other instructions that are imposed and the Coach Company could be taken to court if they do not.

One of the instructions will be a Pick up point.

I can tell you now the Police have no problem turning the coach away and not allowing the fans onto the match.

So if he wants to ignore this notice Im sure there will be a fair few fans non to happy..
Its good of the Police and Club to inform people getting their own coaches of this.

Putting on extra coaches because all the fans who would have sorted thier own coaches, only to be turned back?
