Wolves v Burnley preview

November 3 2008
This Saturday sees Burnley face one of the biggest challenges of the season. We travel to the midlands to take on top of the table Wolverhampton Wanderers, the clarets will travel in good spirits following the weekends victory over Norwich which makes it only 1 defeat in the last 15 league and cup games.
This is during a tough run of fixtures which has seen us take on Reading twice, Birmingham and premiership Fulham. Wolves form by contrast has seen them lose 3 of there last 7 matches conceding 16 goals during that period. The clarets also have recent travels to molineux to draw heart from, winning 3-2 last season live on sky and 1-0 in 2005-06. Burnley do however have to guard against complacency, we will be facing one of the deadliest front parings of the division. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake currently has 9 goal in 13 starts and Chris Iwelumo 9 in 9. These two had Wolves 2-0 up after only 8 minutes on Saturday night and the recently impregnable Burnley back line will face a very stiff examination. Will "the beast" stand strong, will the rejuvenated Caldwell and Carlisle continue there recent good form? only time will tell. The attacking players in the Burnley side will be targeting the seemingly stuttering defensive line of Wolves. Eagles was in superb form on Saturday and all Burnley fans hope this continues against Wolves. I am sure I am not the only Burnley fan who is also dying for another airing of "bad beat" pants from super Robbie Blake.
A victory for Burnley on Saturday could see Burnley rise to 3rd in league with 1/3rd of the season gone while, if the unthinkable happens and we suffer defeat we will still find ourselves in a play-off position come Saturday night and we will be ready to go on another strong run. Good luck Burnley |
Our defence will stand good as an impregnable fortess . Our forwards know how to push the balls forward and as flashes of lightling they will strike to dazzle and baffle the pack of Wolves .
Victory is ours .
Put it this way, you will need to score 3 goals to beat us.
Are you up for it???

I predict a score draw and would be happy with that

But they couldn't score
Clarets are coming to get ya

Normally an away game at Molyneux is three points in the bank for us, Only difference this year is we actually have a decent team.
Bring it on

But as I said, we are a different Wolves this season, we are the best team in the league so far as our league position would suggest.
But you guys are going to need to score 3 goals to beat us. I think the best you can hope for is a draw.
But we will see. Hope you have a good drive there and a good drive back, because the bit in the middle will be hell for you.
(joke).
See ya there, and let the talking commence on Saturday night.
My prediction 3-1 to Wolves.
Iwelumo, SEB and Kites.
Wow that is sticking my neck out. Should I prepare to get my head chopped off. LOL
