In response to a competition organised by Clarets scribbler Dave ‘the pen’ Thomas on the Longside website, an excellent selection of BFC limericks was submitted. Dave offered the second No Nay Never volume two as a prize and this clearly inspired a high level of entries. Mind you, you haven’t seen the rubbish.
Here are the best ones: I promise one day I’ll be sober, After nineteen games without winning, There is a small team from Turf Moor, Turf Moor is where legends are born, Those proud players in claret and blue,
A butcher from Burnley called Lord, So the players were sold in their hordes, Our lads play in claret and blue, and the winning entry............. I spied on my way to The Turf, Thanks go to Dave for organising this fun competition and providing his excellent book as the prize also all posters for the entries.
