Boing Boing Back To The Turf

Well what can we say after Saturday? Yet another superb performance from the Clarets away from home to a Premiership side. After the heroics against Spurs and the end of one cup, I for one thought the lads would be so down that this would be a none event almost.
How wrong I was there were no signs of Burnley rolling over and in fact we took the game to the Baggies, wave after wave of attack on the West Brom goal finally saw our Spurs hero Robbie Blake bundled over in the box, and for once Burnley got a soft penalty decision. Alexander took it and we all know what happens then, back of the net, 1-0 to Burnley. The lead did not last long though, and 6 minutes later Robert Koren levelled with a super shot from 20 yards. I lost count of how many times we both hit the woodwork, this was going to be an exciting game and it didn't disappoint. With half time beckoning Kim was brought down by Carlisle and as so often happens he got up to take his own free kick which deflected off the wall to wrong foot Jensen. Half time an undeserved 2-1 lead for the Baggies. I don't know what Owen Coyle says to these lads who have played more games and extra time then any other club in Britain, all I know is it works. The incentive now for Burnley is either Cardiff (no thanks) or Arsenal (yes please) await us in an away game, if, we can over turn WBA at home. Crowd 18,294 |

Burnley if we beat WBA and Cardiff/Arsenal
Derby/Nottingham Forest
Everton/Doncaster/Aston Villa
Sheffield United/Hull
Sunderland/Blackburn/Coventry
Swansea/Fulham
Watford
West Ham/Middlesbrough
Surely you'd give up the potential gate money of a game against Arsenal for a quarter final draw like that.
