Signing Number 6 Fernando Guerrero

Burnley have today completed the season long loan of the 19 year old Independiente del Valle midfielder Fernando Guerrero. It is no surprise to Burnley fans that Owen Coyle has finally got his man, after what has seemed to be a long wait.
This young midfielder has impressed Owen Coyle in the two pre-season games in the States against VC Fusion where he scored one of the 5 goals and also against Portland Timbers, prior to the American mini tour Coyle had watched his man playing for Real Madrid reserves. Although Fernando was born in Quito, Ecuador, he holds Spanish nationality so there will be no difficulties with a work permit. Fernando joined Real Madrid at the age of 16, he played for their U19 team but never managed to appear for the first team, he is also an Ecuador International. He has committed to a season long loan with an option for a permanent deal at the end of the forthcoming season. Although the young man has shown promise he is only 19 and has not played at any level nearing that of the Premiership, but the signs are that he could become one of Owen Coyles most astute signings, time will tell. He will wear the Number 32 shirt.

but if he does shine,& even though we have the first option?of signing him permantly,he could well be priced out of our reach by much richer clubs.
cos'whatever agreement we have with his club,their will surely not turn down a much bigger offer than we could afford?.
Owen seems to really, really, rate this lad so I'm sure he wouldn't have arrived on loan if our options were poor come the end of a successful loan period.

but,do you think that the clause would include a clause that if Burnley offered...lets just say £3million..that they would have to accept? rather than accept an offer of £10million..?

I would hope that there's an agreed price, set in stone, that we pay if we decide to sign him. It's all very unclear, probably for a good reason.
