The Clarets this morning announced their 7th summer signing as the 24 year old Reading and Cameroon central defender Andre Bikey, he arrives at Turf Moor for an undisclosed fee and a 3 year contract. Bikey goes straight into the squad for tomorrow nights First Premiership Home game against Manchester United.
Andre Bikey had been linked with the Clarets for just over a week, Owen Coyle finally secured his man this morning. He signed for Reading in 2007 from Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow for just over £1 million after a loan spell, and played in excess of 70 games for the Berkshire outfit mainly in the centre back role. His career began as a 15 year old for Spanish club Espanyol, he didn't play first team football for them and was moved to Shinnik Yaroslavl in the summer of 2005 before moving onto Lokomotiv Moscow. Andre has also played for Cameroon in the African Nations Cup and the 2008 Olympics in Bejing. He is best remembered by all Burnley fans for his antics in the home play off tie against Reading where he was sent off after stamping on Robbie Blake and then proceeded to remove his shirt in disgust, let's hope all Clarets fans in future will be cheering him for very different reasons. The Longside welcomes Andre Bikey to Turf Moor. |
