Alastair Campbell Summarises The Tottenham Game

There is a rather disturbing mathematical trend developing. Take a look at Burnley's four away games so far this season. Stoke: lost 2-0. Chelsea: lost 3-0. Liverpool: lost 4-0. And now Spurs 5-0. At this rate, when we play our final away game of the season at Birmingham in May, they will beat us 20-0.

Far worse than that though, unless the trend is reversed, we will lose 6-0 at Blackburn in our next venture from Fortress Turf Moor. No, please, God of football, anything but that. The last time we played a league game at Ewood Park they beat us 5-0 and that was bad enough.

And yet, and yet, surely we are better than this dreadful run of away results would suggest? You know the old one about being too good to go down? We are surely too good to go through a whole season losing every game by a mounting number of goals to nil. Of course we are.
