Clarets fans have a new hero after goal-king Chris Iwelumo scored a memorable hat-trick to set up a thrilling derby win over Preston at a throbbing Turf Moor.
Burnley looked dead and buried and on their way to a first home defeat of the season when Preston deservedly went 3-1 up with just 20 minutes to go. But North End were then reduced to ten men when Billy Jones was shown a second yellow card. And after Iwelumo had thumped in a stunning volley with just six minutes to go, the Clarets went goal-crazy with two more to complete a remarkable victory. Well, i would love to comment on the game but spent mosty of the day in A&E. Then when i returned to work, on about 75 mins in, I thought at 3-1 down might as well go and tell the wife what was wrong with me.
I got up to her seat on 82 mins, and watched three goals, and a fantastic thirteen minutes by the clarets.
So happy when Jay od popped up with the winner.
