Burnley ended a bitter-sweet day with a resounding victory in Torquay to complete their pre-season tour of the South West.
Goals from Marvin Bartley, Jay Rodriguez and the prolific Alex MacDonald put smiles back on Claret faces, following the shock news earlier in the day that Tyrone Mears and Chris Eagles appear to be Bolton bound. Eddie Howe's squad was two men light following confirmation that Mears and Eagles had been granted permission to speak to Bolton after the two clubs agreed a fee in the region of £3m. I don't think a 3-1 friendly win at Torquay is going to paper over any cracks in the severely-weakened first team squad.
