No Championship bosses want to play him?
No League One bosses want to play him?
No League Two bosses want to play him?
Strange that because he is is definitely good enough for us at the minute. Can't believe 72 managers can be so wrong.

Get over him vinni, it's not healthy this obsession with a young lad. Do you have his poster on your bedroom wall ?

Nope no obsession for me. Only oldish blokes who go on about how good he has been against League Two reserve sides and how he should be in the team in front of our first team squad despite not being able to get in Fleetwoods side would be classed as having an obsession in my book.

Untwist your knickers vinni. If you want to discuss Harvey sensibly please show me where I've ever said he 'should' be in our first team.
All I've ever said is that, from what I've seen of him, it's worth giving him a chance. I've never said he IS the answer, only that he might be. That the manager doesn't go along with that opinion is clear and indisputable.
This just begs the question then as to why he's been given another contract, and I can't answer that. Another year and loaned out to Fleetwood again just doesn't make any sense to me. He's at an age now where any pro club should be able to say yes or no about him and yet we're still wussing around with him. Imo he should either be given a run in the first team or fired off.
If there's anything there you find contentious or really disagree with I'm happy to discuss it further. I'm sure you'll let me know.

Nope, nothing contentious in there, the bit that amuses me is your constant @#$%& kissing of the poor lad, telling us how excellent he is against sides like Shrewsbury reserves or Altrincham, how he hasn’t misplaced a pass in the game and has run the show, along with the bitter little snipes at his competition, be it Marney, Bartley and even this other young lad Beadle.

Not @#$%&-kissing at all vinni, if I think he's played well, I'll say so, if I think he hasn't I'll say that as well.
I've said often that it's difficult to judge the strength of the opposition in the reserve league but usually I would think it's not up to much. So I tend to judge not by the opposition he's against but the players he's actually playing with. I've seen him regularly in the reserves with Edgar and Bartley, in pre-season friendlies alongside the likes of Eagles, McCann, Elliott, Bikey etc and he doesn't look out of place to me in the same team as them. And as they're all playing against the same opposition I try to judge him against their level of performance, not the opposition.
No idea where you're coming from with the 'bitter little snipes'. I don't rate Beadle, Harvey looks a better footballer than Marney or Bartley to me but I've nothing against either of those two. Perhaps you could
put some examples up ?
He did have an excellent game at Altrincham, everyone who's posted who went to the game agrees, he does usually run the show when I've seen him, so why should I not say so if that's my opinion ? Isn't that what msgboards are for ?
As for the obsession, I've hardly mentioned him for the last few months but you even managed to bring him up in a thread about Trippier yesterday. Today this thread was first posted at 12.37, just 4 minutes later at 12.41 you're posting. Not obsessed with him ? Really, what's all that about then ? You rarely post about anyone else.

"Perhaps you could put some examples up ?"
The not at all patronsing
"“We're supposed to be heading back to the PL, we're told to expect 'quality signings', but so far we've had Charlie from Swindon, Marvin from Bournemouth, Ben from Man City reserves on loan and rumours about another Bournemouth player and one from Rochdale. We also brought a young lad in on trial last season, Beadle he's called. he looked very ordinary indeed in the reserves. It wasn't just me, on CM a few people said he didn't look anywhere near good enough. He played at Garforth on Wednesday, he's still here. Harvey plays well in the first team and gets dumped straight back in to the development squad alongside him.”
As for my obsession, with taking the @#$%& out of you, yeah, i find it amusing how wound up you get and wait for a chance to bite back, for Harvey, nah, I'll leave it to old blokes who fantasise about the reserves.
You could have a face off, you and Harvey vs UN and Scorer.

Dear me vinni, doesn't take much to get under your skin does it ? And I don't even have to try.
Incidentally, just for your information, there's a really good young lad coming through the youth team just now, Shay McCartan, could be something special imo. I'll keep you informed, but don't get all bitter and twisted about him will you, it's not his fault I've tipped you off about him. If I see any more I'll let you know.
Bye for now

What do you mean he had no idea who I am? How ridiculous. I call him by his nickname, so ipso facto, I must be best mates with him.
Wind your neck in UN - or I'll be speaking to my other best mate - Taffy. I met him once when he was walking down Brunshaw Rd in Feb 1976. We've been bosom buddies ever since so much so that in 2008 I even asked if I could hold his lollipop stick for him.

With this Vinny and Bc banter.
I sit firmly on the side of BC, i too think Harvey has proved himself to be given a shot in the first team.
But Vinny's argument is also good, that no one seems to think the same.
The reasoning to my thining is, i love to see Burnley bring payers through, McCann, Jay, Lafferty in the last few years, i was hoping Harvey and young Fletcher would be next.

Don't get me wrong BBC 2, I would love it if he came through and took the team by storm, it would only benefit Burnley.
But there is a reason why nobody in the Football League wants him isnt there?
If he was good enough for us at the moment but Howe does not want to play him for some other reason then another club higher than Fleetwood would have taken him last year or this year. They havent. What does that tell you?

No idea, i wish i could answer, but like yourself BC and everyone else we can only guess or sumise.
My thinking is Howe like Laws and Coyle before him wants him to beef up before he is given a role in the first team.
and a month or two away might give the lad some steel in his undoubted quality play.
But its only a guess.

I'm swaying more towards he was a cheap way to pad out the squad in case of an emergency but who knows.
Why are only Fleetwood willing to take him?

Think Fleetwood because the distance (no digs needed) and also Micky Mellon who is manager there, there is also former youth team player Gaz Seddon playing there.
I have a feelinng (maybe worng here) but quite a few of our youth players who didnt get pro contracts are given a chance there.
If thats the case its like a club we can utilise very easily.
The filling the squad in case of emergency could well be the reason, but the championship can utilise the loan window for almost 70% of the season so maybe not the full reason?

You'd think though, if he was good enough to be given a chance in our team a club higher than the conference would take him, relationship or not?
