A tour of Malaysia would be nice Shanghai but I reckon Cardiff will be the one's who fill that role in the near future. How is the father of the bride?

Soapy
The father of the bride is excellent thanks. Just got back a couple of days ago. The resort was absolutely superb so you can imagine he is considerably poorer than he used to be.
Where are you now? Have you headed NW yet?

A couple of nice friendlies there.
I doubt i'll bother with them though, they are pretty much meaningless. I really cant understand why people would want to travel hundreds of miles to see some of these games.
If the clubs charged summat like a fiver, just to cover costs, i might go, But at £15 a pop minimum, bollocks to that.
Its not like i cant afford it, its just principle really. Im not paying that for a kick about that means nothing.

Are we not playing Altrincham and Bury this time ? I've got to like the trips to those two on warm summer days, rare chance to see some of the youth team as well.

We need to be testing ourselves against a reasonable calibre of opposition, not shite thats not much better than Stockport.
Although to be fair, i do enjoy a day out at Accy. But thats more for the ale and the company rather that the actual football.

It could work both ways those pre- season friendlies at Bury, Rochdale or Oldham Fred, sometimes you'd come off quite content and smug thinking 'well at least we're better than that shite'. Other times it could really be depressing and you'd come off thinking 'FFS, we're no better than that shite'.

Cannot be arsed with a 4-hour drive to Cork for a friendly. Wish they were playing a team a bit closer.

Can't understand why they don't organise a trip to Europe, test the squad against tougher, less well known opposition. Maybe get out to Germany - or even one of the Scandinavian countries?

I haven't been 'back home' since the play-off final, so it's long overdue Casper.
