BRILLIANT Burnley passed their toughest test yet with flying colours to go into the international break in top spot.
The partnership of Danny Ings and Sam Vokes was again on target as Sean Dyche’s mean chalked up a remarkable sixth straight Championship victory. Ings celebrated his midweek England U21 call-up with the opener in the 21st minute, slotting home Kieran Trippier’s trademark cross for his 11th of the campaign. And after Royals keeper Alex McCarthy kept his side in the contest with a succession of magnificent saves, strike partner Vokes doubled the lead 11 minutes from time. A Jason Shackell own-goal, as he unwittingly turned home Pavel Pogrebnyak’s far post header, made it a nervy finale. But the Clarets held firm to stretch their amazing unbeaten sequence to eight wins in nine league and cup games. Dyche made one change to the side that won at Doncaster in midweek. Midfielder Dean Marney returned from suspension to replace David Edgar, who dropped to the bench. Quite incredible start to the season. This manager and this team are going places and we all need to back them to the hilt now. There's going to be setbacks, but anything is possible.

What a great result,we battered a team that are one of the favourites to go up in an automatic spot..well done Burnley and Dyche..

It's not all bad FC, a break should be more helpful to clubs like ours with small squads, and it also means that we stay top for the next two weeks at least.

Good question that aggi, but I can't answer it. Every other player at our level seems to be an international these days and I've totally lost interest in keeping track. Once of a day it would have been an honour for the club to have an international on it's books but does it matter very much any more ? Except to the player concerned of course.

Proves my point there C&G, you mention 6 players, 4 of them aren't even in our first team, more like a jolly for the reserves than an International break.
