Charity Football Match Turf Moor 2014

      I arranged a similar event at Turf Moor this year that took place on May 19th between fans of Burnley and Sheffield United. We raised over £1000 that was split between two charities - Pendleside Hospice, Burnley and SANDS (Still birth and neonatal death charity).Our plan for 2014 is to raise money for two causes - one being the Gary Parkinson Trust and the other Kidney Research. One member of our playing squad donated his kidney and has since become fitter and healthier than ever (at 45 years old) and my father in law has been the recipient of a kidney donation. Gary Parkinson - an ex professional footballer - sadly had a stroke and now suffers from what is known as 'locked in syndrome', hence the decision to support this charity.

    The plan is to have a game between a team of supporters against the Vintage Clarets - a team of ex-professional Burnley players to raise some substantial amounts of money - and equally as important, raise awareness for the charities. Ex-Claret John Deary has confirmed his interest in this event and we’re doing all we can to make sure it is a huge success.

     We are looking to find as many sponsors as possible to support the event and raise the profile of the match and the charities. In return, we would offer exposure to any potential company by displaying your company logo on all advertising material, tickets and acknowledgements on social media networks (huge in our fundraising efforts) and local newspaper – post and pre-match – and local radio coverage.

     The main question that will no doubt be the main factor in any potential sponsors’ mind - "How much will it cost?” I am totally aware of the current financial climate and the struggle that some businesses are experiencing. What we offer is the option to donate as much or as little as you like, but would ideally look for a minimum donation of £50. In return for any donation will gain the full exposure and advertising of your company in our marketing campaign.
