Conlan Rejoins The Clarets
By Burnley FC
September 9 2014
Northern Ireland U21 international Luke Conlan has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the Clarets. The 19-year-old defender, recruited from Northern Ireland in 2011, was a key part of the side that reached the 2012 FA Youth Cup semi-final and recently netted for the development squad in the impressive 5-0 win against Aston Villa.

And having originally being released last summer and subsequently re-signing at Turf Moor, the defender admits he is happy to be home as he looks to kick on and progress following a summer recovering from injury.

Despite being clogged up with Ward, Mee, Taylor and Lafferty as LB options.
Cisak with a new two year deal is odd too.
Please lets get Marney on a new 3 year.

These names mean nothing.

Anyway it appears that, to the surprise of BFC he's made a full, if miraculous, recovery, so that's alright.

strange. i suppose its not the done thing to tell everyone a player has been released because of injury. there was plenty of kicking off when bruce announced to the world that austin had a duff knee and liverpool haven't said why they wouldn't sign remy either, rumoured to be an injury/health thing wasn't it?
He seemed to be highly rated yet they were happy to risk letting him sign for someone else before having second thoughts and taking him back on. All very odd.

Hewitt on a 2 year deal, at his age?

Cause they ain't good enough mate, if they were, they would come through!
That's the mystery though MH isn't it, we've had two separate squads recently good enough to get to semi- finals, beating academy teams along the way, more than 20 teenagers amongst the best in the country. They were good enough at 18 but, as far as I know, not a single one of them has yet turned out good enough to hold down a regular place in even a D2 team in their twenties.

The last two youth teams were solid teams without any players that really stood out.

Was he really in a team as late as you say?
Same age at J-Rod isn't he (even a few months older maybe)?

Hewitt getting a 2 year deal at his age, staggering waste of money.

It might sound daft but give me a better reason why players like Lafferty, O'Neill and Hewitt are getting these contracts.
