Burnley fell to their first defeat in four games as West Bromwich Albion ran out 4-0 winners at the Hawthorns.Albion raced into a two-goal lead by half-time as first Craig Dawson and then Saido Berahino took advantage of two well-worked set pieces by the hosts.

After the break, Berahino got his second before Graham Dorrans settled at the death.
Despite their best attempts, Burnley had, this time no answer as the Clarets keep searching for their first Premier League win of the season.
David Jones and Dean Marney both missed the game through injury as Burnley lined up in a 4-1-4-1 formation.

Former Baggie Steven Reid anchored the midfield with Scott Arfield and George Boyd ahead of him in the centre. Meanwhile, Ross Wallace and Michael Kightly were given starting berths on the wings. Lukas Jutkiewicz was the lone striker.

West Brom head coach Alan Irvine named an unchanged side to the one that ran out 1-0 winners at White Hart Lane last weekend. Ex-Claret Chris Baird was out because of illness.

Albion had the better of the opening exchanges with Burnley defending narrowly and forcing the opposition to attack down the flanks. The Clarets dealt with crosses into their box comfortably, though.

On 13 minutes, Kightly had Burnley’s first effort on goal, but he could not keep his half-volley down and on target.
