Teams are in, well at least Nugent can't get his usual goal against us.

Burnley; Heaton, Trippier, Duff, Shackell (c), Mee, Boyd, Arfield, Jones, Taylor, Jutkiewicz, Ings.

Subs; Gilks, Keane, Ward, Kightly, Wallace, Sordell, Ulvestad.

Leicester; Schmeichel, Wasilewski, Huth, Morgan (c), Albrighton, King, Cambiasso, Drinkwater, Konchesky, Vardy, Ulloa.

Subs; Schwarzer, De Laet, Upson, James, Mahrez, Wood, Kramarić.

Really not confident about this one. I'll be happy to be proved wrong, though.

Only seen the last 20mins of the first half, at least we aren't losing.
I am getting that familiar "where are we going to get a goal from"

Every cloud Alfie, it won't break my heart being back in the Championship. Far from it, if we can keep Dyche we should be a force again next season, I'm looking forward to it.

Was it you who said we seemed to be building a squad for a successful Championship campaign once our better players had departed BC? You could be bang on there. It's brilliant getting promoted, but season after season purely avoiding relegation would grow tiresome. Play this right, become a yo-yo team and we will be fine.

Yes, it seemed that way Jabber, although I'm still not sure if it was done by accident or design.

We are giving it a shot at surviving but a very firm price had been put on it prior to the first ball of the season being kicked imo.We were in squad terms ill prepared for our promotion and I have no doubt,truth be told, the board were as gob smacked as the rest of us how last season panned out.

I think the point is that teams coming up like Burnley (QPR and Leicester), don't really know whether the squad is good enough to stay up, they simply have just got to give it a shot. I just wonder over the last 5 years how many of the teams getting promoted from The Championship, actually managed to survive that first season in The Premier League; I honestly don't know what that percentage is; but if it is small, then perhaps we shouldn't be trying to beat ourselves up over it.

Taylor puts it in the open goal, they dont score a minute later, we 'probably' win.

This would have had us 3rd bottom now, 1 point from safety.


Was talking to my Dad yesterday, ive made no secret that its a no lose situation for me as I would sooner watch us in the Championship (and its great to see many others finally coming around to that) but obviously I do want us to 'win' the relegation battle.

In reality, stay up or go down, all I ever wanted all this Season was for it to go to the last game (or Stoke at home, at absolute earliest) for value for money.

Im just glad we havnt been stuck in abolute no mans land all Season like Stoke and whoever else always are, otherwise we wouldnt have had occasions like last weekend, or the Man City game etc.

Anyway, I digress, I was chatting to my Dad and I said "its not losing to Leicester and effectively getting relegated that hurts, its HOW. Had that flash c**t put the pen away and then, later and towards the end of the game, Leicester went and bagged two goals to win I could have accpeted it, but its the fact that the pen miss was the assist for their winner. Had the ref waved the pen appeal away then they wouldnt have scored a couple of minutes later".

Oh exactly "ifs", and the whole thing doesnt really matter anyway.

But were not talking, oh we hit the crossbar, oh we were the better team and "deserved" ro win like some knobs do.

Were talking if he scores that open goal, then they dont score and we probably stay up.

Its a win/win scenario, its just that which hurts a bit, I would have had no problem and not been arsed at all has the pen gone in before they went on to bag a couple later on to win.

Taylor won the game for Leicester, Taylor relegated us and the thing is, its probably no deal to him.

Ings is our penalty taker, top scorer, leading striker. It's his responsibility to take the penalties but he bottled it, so Taylor had to do his job for him. The sequence of events which lead to Leicester scoring occurred not because Taylor missed the penalty, but because Ings refused to take it.

So you're wrong about Taylor.....Ings won the game for Leicester, Ings relegated us and the thing is, it's probably no deal to him.

Vokes is Burnleys penalty taker, unless Ings wins one which is when he takes it.

I'm a bit disappointed in Shackell as well, he's captain, he's in charge on the field, he should have told Ings to take that penalty or he'd he kick his trembling little backside all the way up the tunnel to the dressing room.

I find it interesting that this has been allowed to get out, Sean is generally so supportive of his players and deflects anything approaching criticism. Wonder if he gave Ings a rocket behind closed doors? It wouldn't surprise me.

Didn't SD cover it all up anyway when he said there is no fixed policy as to who takes penalties.

In that case I'll take my boots down for the next home game, just in case none of them fancy it.

And now Hull beat Liverpool....

He said that Taylor was "the only one who looked like he want it". He has hung Ings out to dry there, knowingly too.

Shortly after the pen miss / away goal...Ings cropped someone to give a FK away without need (petulant kick).

His captain bollocked him so he just started mouthing off back, for ages, Shackell just shook his face at him and ran off backwards.

Sounds like a spell training with the youth team would do him no harm, he could practice his penalties while with them as well.

Shackell told him in no uncertain terms what he could do.

Still can't understand why he stepped up against Villa but bottled this one.
As our best player and top scorer he should have took it upon himself.

What did he say he can do?
