Burnley mounted a brave rear-guard action to prise a precious point from a tough clash at Derby. The Clarets found themselves under increasing pressure from the hosts, still looking for their first home league win of the season.

But they stood firm to extend their unbeaten run against the Rams to 11 games. To read the full match report please click on the link below;

Glad it was on TV though and I didn't have to pay £31 quid to see it.
Gray just has a hamstring tweak, apparently. Worrying moments.
I don't think I'll bother with the highlights.
We haven't hardly played well yet and we're third.
As I keep saying, we are nowhere near where we were two years ago, but we're still well organised and hard to beat, which it seems might just be enough in this division.
Two things that are very positive tonight, an away clean sheet, and the bench.... We do have depth.
Joey will be given a minimum of 20 minutes against Reading, and my guess is can he do much more, will he start?
I know I might be in a minority of one but I want to be entertained. This side has no spark, no creativity and therefore creates few, if any chances. I know, I know ...... we had a couple of chances that Boyd/Vokes managed to screw up but personally I'm fed up of Dyche's style. Sideways/back/forwards 5 yards/sideways/back... HOOF. Repeat ad infinitum.
Yes, I'm aware it's an away point/at Derby/ we're 3rd in the table/we didn't concede blah blah blah.
But honestly, watching paint dry is more entertaining.
It's not as though this is a one-off; it happens on a regular basis and has done for a long time.
(Cue "If you want entertainment, you ought to go to the circus")
"It's not how you vote that matters ; it's who does the counting."
Unfortunately football is becoming more and more boring as the money men take over. Results are all that matter not entertainment.
Better start watching RL it is not as effected yet. I recommend watching the Rhinos.

The aspect of the game that disapointed me was our inability to pass the ball forward from midfield, more passes went backwards or sideways and don't get me started on our hold up play up front on the few occasions we manged to compete and win the ball.
It was a stinker!

Strange how so many posters who were happy with the results last week, despite the poor performances, aren't so happy now. What's changed, what's the problem, that was a bloody good point, picked up despite not playing well. What happened to "It's the mark of a good team, picking up points when you're not playing well." ?

I'm saying CW the issue is one of creativity, ball retention and attacking prowess. I believe that with no real CM the ball is hit up to Vokes etc and comes straight back. When we have Gray due to his pace and the way he plays on the shoulder he give defenders something to think about and can run through onto balls knocked over the top and flick ons. It isn't pretty but needs must. IMHO if we get genuine CM's in the middle then suddenly we can play through the middle, we have our better players out wide - and we still have the longer option at times.
But it was all there on this msgboard, some quotes from posts on the last two games
"I can't remember seeing a team play as poorly as we have in the last two games and yet create so many chances."(BC)
"just like against Wednesday we were on the verge of being over-run at times last night."(BC)
"And yet there's still no fluidity and the number of times the ball is whacked over midfield to the front two is not pretty. And again we end up hanging on for the last 20 mins."(DT)
"MK were cutting through our midfield like a knife through butter."(BC)
"Wednesday fans must have gone back over the Pennines thinking 'how the **** did we lose that'"(BC)
"With 15 minutes to go a Wednesday win looked certain."(DT)
Last night's performance was entirely in keeping with the two previous games and no surprise at all. Without Gray we have very little goal threat up front, and our midfield has been nowhere near good enough since Marney got injured, we're just grinding out results by fitness, organisation and the hope that our opponents don't take their chances.
When Gray went off, Dyche just stuck rigidly to 4-4-2 when the game was crying out for an extra midfielder to help retain the ball and support Vokes with runners into the box. Vokes was limited to pot-shots, and the one the keeper parried should have been pounced on. The only time this support happened was when Boyd played an awful pass to Vokes, but at least he was up there.
I don't think Hennings knows where he's supposed to be playing, but I can't see the point in bringing on a striker if you end up playing 4-4-1-1. Better to have a midfielder playing in a 4-5-1 and allow Boyd and Arfield (both of whom have good shooting boots) to push on.
But we got a point and a clean sheet, so what do I know?
Difficult to impress anyone on that basis.

However our strengths two years ago were pace up front and midfielders getting up in support.
Hennings had neither of them yesterday. He probably won't have either on Saturday either to be honest.
We need a decent central midfield, wingers getting crosses in (and full backs). Unless dyche fancies a change of system - which we don't currently seem to have the personnel for.
Hopefully it will again this year.

Did you see that line up!!??!! H*ll's bells - that looks like a competitive Championship outfit.
Gilks, Lowton, Anderson, K Long, Ward, Marney, Barton, Ulvestad, Lafferty, C Long, Massanka.
Subs: Agyei, Dummigan, Smith, Hendrie, Whitmore, O'Neill, Nizic.
Joey and Freddie on the score sheet as well. Hopefully SD has some tough selection decisions to make on Saturday.

Sean Dyche is loyal to his players, I'd be surprised to see him change things from the start, but once Joey is in and fit for 90 minutes it would be daft not to start him.
I'm with you there, Dyche is very much results focussed rather than performances, if we perform too, bonus.
It will take a poor result for him to change it I reckon, and at the moment we're getting the results so Barton will have to wait for his chance to get in the strarting eleven.
He's been here nearly a month and I'm sure I read he did a bit of pre season training with another club.
Unless he's been on the lash all summer he must be in good enough shape.
Dyche had no issue dropping Kightly last season after Stoke, when he was arguably our best player on that day.

I would like to see Chris Long get a start soon.
Not sure what you're basing that on.
I doubt he'll start all season, unless we get injuries and its needs must.
