Burnley 1 Leeds United 0
By Burnley FC
April 9 2016
The Clarets piled the pressure on the chasing pack with a vital 1-0 win over Yorkshire-rivals Leeds United. Scott Arfield's goal after just 60 seconds proved to be the difference between the two sides in the tense Saturday lunch-time kick-off at Turf Moor.
|
And with five games remaining, both Middlesbrough and Brighton knew they too would need to keep winning to remain on the coat-tails of the leaders. The visitors then went in search of an instant reply, and almost grabbed one for a decent save from Burnley’s captain. |

Just my humble opinion.
Next game Brum. That's all we have to worry about - and another squeaky bum.
Same 11 every game.
Just hope Jones and Vokes are OK for Saturday, think Jones just felt ill, sure they will be.
Same 11 please - anything else would be insane.
"Squeaky bum time"
Really? Honestly?
I'm absolutely loving this, simply turning up at every game, even away games, knowing you've git a result.
Winning the title would mean the world to me but I can honestly say I'm neither worried nor nervous in the slightest .
It's all in your own heads.

Or in this case Chris Woods' head, he missed two absolute sitters with his.
Still like Cardiff bouncing one off the crossbar when it was easier to score, it just shows we're going up, promoted teams always get the breaks.

18 games, 12 wins, 6 draws, 34 scored, 10 conceded.
Same 11 every game.

Sean will tell you quite openly, we don't play for draws, we aim to win every game. So that record, good as it is, means Sean has failed to achieve his objective in 6 of the last 18 games. So it's clear, we're under-achieving in around one third of our games even on a good run, so there's room for improvement, there always is.
It's looked to me for some time now that we need more mobility, pace, dynamism in the team, and that's precisely what Barnes and Marney brought when they came on against Leeds. And almost immediately the performance improved, we got on top of Leeds for the first time in the game and they were on the back foot. There is absolutely nothing to fear, nothing to lose from playing Marney and Barnes, both good experienced players at this level, both fit into our system seamlessly. I really can't believe you're fretting about the possibility of Marney and Barnes starting MH, you know what they can do, you know they fit in, what's got into you ?
If they improve the level of performance, and they did on Saturday, then they should play, simple really.

I've no intention of going to Charlton.
somebody else did, boro have won 4 on the trot and have reading and Bolton before we play brum, they could be 5 points clear of us so can afford to draw against us.

What does worry me is Boro AND Brighton, especially if Brighton win at Forest tonight, if they both keep on their roll then we could be looking at the play-offs.
If it does go down to the wire then we have the advantage, they can't both get 3 points on the last day, win at Charlton and we gain at least two points, possibly three, on one of the other two.

We MUST NOT WIN anymore games so we finish in the play offs just to satisfy a posters warped mind.

The title's gone now so you can save yourself a trip to Charlton.
A bit defeatist that Bob ?
Owt could happen.
Bookies are rarely wrong.
I hope it's the same as it is now on the final day with all 3 involved. They play each other so only one can win anyway but it adds to it.
The table exactly as it is right now on the final day please.

That would be amazing.
Something like this:
Burnley 91
Boro 90
Brighton 90
Going into the last game.

To go and be a part of a day like that would be immense.

I can't even get down on the day, gonna have to go down Friday night, stay somewhere on my Jack then up for the game Sat.
Gonna cost a small fortune, so want monies worth!

I'm 30 mins off Charlton by train that weekend visiting my son and grandchildren,I wonder if there will be any pay on the day in the Charlton end if it ends up like you say, with us needing to win.If so I will certainly think about making the short journey with my son ...
Quote:Sick of reading 'must win' - it's all nonsense.
So,When does a 'must win' not become 'all nonsense'?

As I said then. Weak. Just glad me and Sean ain't like this.

Maybe they could give us all our ST money back. Why not, everybody else at the club is going to be quids in, and they could easily afford it.
What about us fans !!!!
