Burnley 1 QPR 0

Burnley 1 QPR 0 We Are Premier League! The Clarets will play Premier League football next season following a 1-0 win over QPR at a packed Turf Moor.

Sam Vokes’ priceless goal on the hour mark ensured the Clarets all three points, and a return to England’s top division at the first time of asking.

The win also extended Burnley’s unbeaten league run to a staggering 22 games, and earned a 19th clean sheet of the season in the process.

It was a fitting day to clinch promotion, 56 years to the day that the club won the First Division title in 1960.

However, it was not a day without nerves.

It was a stuttering start from the Clarets, and the visitors enjoyed the possession and chances early doors.

Sebastian Polter, who could have easily been shown a red card for an early lunge on Joey Barton, then teed up the first effort of the match.

The German forward cushioned down a header to Matt Phillips, and the former Blackpool winger arrowed a strike to the far post, where the Clarets’ captain Tom Heaton brilliantly kept the score level with a fine save.

I could see how Brighton put 4 past them.

Was a tense time, and we didn't luck out.

Well done Burnley.

@#$%& marvellous season and never, ever, in doubt. I had to stop posting about footy on Twitter due to the soft-@#$%& cry-baby replies I was getting to every 'set-back'.
Haven't looked here since, call it superstitious if you like. Hope everyone is well.

There's been one or two wobbling on here lately Jabber, ManHug had to give them a stiffener, but we're all fine now.

Can't be long before the 'careful with that dry powder' brigade fire up though.

There were people saying we'd '@#$%& it' when we weren't even playing! I've never known a side when, even if we're losing in the last-minute I'm confident we'll get something.
I'm shocked sides aren't lining up for Dyche.

The players were nervous as hell which got the fans even more till we scored.
Thankfully QPR didn't take advantage.

Jabber. It's been embarrassing at times. People saying we've blown the title, blown this, blown that.

Even at our lowest at worst form back in the Autumn I said we would finish between 1st and 4th.

From New Year onwards I couldn't see anything but the title and can honestly say it just looked liked a formality.

I don't understand why everyone has seemed nervous etc.

I'll admit, I wanted us to draw on Monday, knowing that we would do it anyway...because I would have rather done it at Charlton, it would have been more special.

Bolton away in Feb, that was the one, I said to my dad "get past this one and we won't lose again this season".

People even thought we would lose at Brighton after that goal wasn't given!

I'm not sure what's wrong with people, just weak, nothing else.

I've loved it, better than 2013'14. Better side too (IMO).

Some of us were just desperate for us not to play barstds and nobbers next season and widen the superiority gap even further.

I shouted to my Leeds pal tonight "Just a 100 kg's of sprouts between us and the title" Champions? you had better believe it.As for Charlton they will be no pushover and the circumstances could be difficult but there is no club better equipped to deal with it.
